The Erl-king SCRIPT Rebecca Shevlin 14/10/18 [SCENE1] [ACT1] START FADE IN: [MONTAGE OF CLIPS] CUT: SCENE 1 – INT. LIVING ROOM– NIGHT DOORBELL RINGS & GIRL 1 OPENS THE DOOR [GIRL 1]: HEY, YOU GOT EVERYTHING YOU NEED? [GIRL 2]: I'VE GOT MY PYJAMAS, TOILETRIES, NAIL POLISH AND BEYONTE IS BRINGING THE FILMS. [GIRL 1] : PERFECT. SHE JUST TEXTED ME SAYING THAT SHE'LL BE HERE IN A MINUTE. JUST CHUCK YOUR STUFF IN THE LIVING ROOM AND YOU CAN START PUTTING YOUR PYJAMAS ON IF YOU WANT. [GIRL 2] : SURE. The Erl-King by Angela Carter In my Short film, I decided to use a voice over of me telling my friends a scary story. In the scary story, I heavily reference and take lines and sections from a short story called 'The Era-King' by Angela Carter. I decided to use this story as I had initially studied it in my English Literature class and was instantly inspired to use as a basis for my film. I wanted to try and bring to life the detailed description of the trees and forests from within the story and translate the tense atmosphere on to the screen. Soundtrack from 'Suspiria' For my short films, I watched a variety of films to help inspire me and one film that specifically influenced me was 'Suspiria' by Dario Argento. In my film I decided to include cinematography and lighting in the style of 'Suspiria', specifically the coloured lighting.
