Three Act structure

• Act 1: The Set-up  - Series of short clips relating to the story – similar to opening of the Ellington kid  - Curtains close and lighting switches to red - group of girls sit around a candle w/ blankets wrapped around them (sleepover) – someone asks for a scary story so the narrator tells them about the  Erl -king – cross-cuts - Girl walks down  Leadenhall market waiting for somebody– then sees a rose in the corner – picks it up and accidently pricks herself - wakes up in middle of forest  • Act 2: Point of no return  - Girl wakes up on floor of forest & starts explore –- use description from story for storytelling part  • Act 3: Resolution  - tension builds up & up until it looks like the girl is cornered – then suddenly the image freezes and the doorbell ring – the narrator stops the story to go get the pizza from the door and as the door opens the screen turns black & it ends. 

Location Reccies

Hainault Forest - A nearby forest with different areas of greenery including very closely packed tree areas that block out light and create an overwhelming and suffocating atmosphere and effect - For this location I would be filming the majority of the forest scenes in which the girl is trapped in It is very large and would often be many areas that are empty so that the filming is not interrupted by people - this would also create a feeling of isolation and fear The Forest is also only a 15 minute drive away from my house so it is also quite practical Leadenhall Market   Brightly yet still gothic inspired public market in London - It has an almost magical quality with the bright glowing lights and the arched and decorated ceiling - wanted to use this location to keep with theme of the short film whilst continuing the idea of bright (yet more muted colored lighting) - Located in Gracechurch street in London Seven Dials Neale's Yard in Seven Dials is a bri...
